Carrier status differences across FMCSA systems

Incident Report for RMIS

Monitoring

Some carriers show different statuses in SAFER, Motus, and RMIS. For example, Motus may show a carrier as inactive while SAFER shows an active DOT status and non-authorized operating authority.

What’s happening
FMCSA is working to resolve data sync issues across its own systems and with state systems. RMIS gets carrier data from the Motus feed, so RMIS shows what Motus sends.

What FMCSA has shared
-FMCSA is working to fix data discrepancies, including the completeness and accuracy of information in DataHub.
-FMCSA has not given a timeline for resolution or for moving off existing data sources.
-FMCSA is working to make Motus the source for conflicting records.
-For out-of-service (OOS) status, SAFER is currently the source of truth.

What you can do
If statuses conflict, check SAFER for OOS status and confirm operating authority before you book. Questions? Contact your CSM or Support.

We’ll update this page as FMCSA shares more.
